In a mountain atmosphere, the Refuge du Grand Tétras, built mainly from local wood, is located in the heart of the largest forest in the Vosges (Schneeberg-Donon), in the very old tourist resort of Wangenbourg-Engenthal. The first floor features a common room with 4 tables, a kitchenette with double sink/hot water, a 4-burner gas stove and oven, a fridge with freezer space, crockery and cutlery for 20 people
The "Refuge du Grand Tétras" is a ?gîte d?étape? and ?groupe? located on the trans-Vosgien hiking trails. (GR 53, 531, 532, 534 and the TMV - Traversée du Massif Vosgien à VTT)).
It is an authentic "Refuge de Montagne" situated on the banks of the Mossig torrent, at the foot of the Wolfsberg (718m), Grand Rosskopf (811m) and Schneeberg (961m) massifs.
At the heart of the largest forest massif in the Vosges, between 300 and 1010 m altitude, it's a paradise for hiking in all its forms. It is selected by numerous French and foreign guides.
Ground floor: common room with kitchenette. Upstairs: 1 wooden dormitory (15 bunk beds).
Sanitary facilities: 2 showers, 4 washbasins, 2 toilets. Wood heating (soapstone stove).
4 breakfast formulas + possibility of catered meals and picnics prepared by the village butcher (choice of 15 Alsatian menus delivered hot on site).
