Palais du Roure, centre for Provencal culture
A place that bears witness to the history of a great Avignon family and an architecture that has been constantly remodeled since the 15th c.
Former Hôtel de Baroncelli-Javon, Fondation Flandreysy-Espérandieu. For five centuries, from 1469 to 1908, the Baroncelli family, originally from Florence, occupied this Gothic residence, transformed in the 17th c. into a private mansion, which Frédéric Mistral named the 'Palais du Roure' in the 19th c.
Now a center of Mediterranean culture, it focuses on Provence, its history, traditions, language and literature. Important bell collection assembled by Jeanne de Flandreysy.
