Musée de Plein Air
The purpose of the open-air museum is to preserve rural buildings and farms destined for demolition.
The buildings are therefore dismantled and rebuilt on the site, which covers some fifteen hectares.
Set in a bucolic environment of thatched cottages typical of 17th, 18th and 19th century rural architecture, gardens, orchards, vegetable gardens and animal-populated pastures, the visit reveals 25 preserved buildings.
Most of the buildings are occupied by artists and craftsmen who perpetuate ancient trades and are keen to pass on their traditional know-how.
To bring the museum to life, events are organized throughout the week:
On Wednesdays and Saturdays, children?s workshops are held on a variety of themes: discovering animals, artistic creation with recycled materials or vegetable-based paints.
Sundays also feature concerts and tastings of regional products.
