At the foot of Mont Cassel, you can discover the story of Louis XIV's conquest of Northern France, and in particular the episode involving Saint-Omer and Inner Flanders. A scale model of the battlefield explains the historical context, so you can fully understand what was at stake at the time. Cycling enthusiasts will find that the site has been awarded the "Accueil Vélo" label (Accueil Vélo® is a national label guaranteeing quality reception and services along cycle routes for touring cyclists). Annual closure in December and January.
