La Chaîne d'Or
The Chaîne d’Or has faithfully kept the name of its 18th century ancestor, which used to house the toll offices for the crossing rights. A huge chain would be thrown between the bank and the neighbouring island to mark out a tax that brought enough gold to the Treasury for the Chaîne d’Or (literally Golden Chain) to deserve its name. Stéphanie and Olivier Bicot have been keeping alive the house's traditions of hospitality and quality in this beautiful manor house built in 1751, located at the foot of Château-Gaillard and on the bank of one of the most beautiful meanders of the river Seine. The 14 spacious and bright bedrooms provide a view over the river Seine, the church and its pretty square, or the hotel's inner courtyard. The Chaîne d'Or restaurant welcomes you to a dining room with a view of the river Seine. You will enjoy inventive and personal cuisine created by the chef Stéphanie BICOT. This hotel and restaurant, located an hour away from Paris and close to Giverny, has everything you need for a truly relaxing stay. A charming stop to fall in love with the Norman Eure!
